Welcome

The Children's Restoration Center Inc. is a non-profit organization founded by Bonita Stamper to help underprivileged and at-risk children excel both within and past their current situations. The children that will come to live at the Children's Restoration Center will all be in need of counseling, therapy, support, structure and love. Licensed therapists will provide treatment for each child, and the staff will offer both the emotional support and dedicated parenting most of the children have never experienced with their own families. The Children's Restoration Center will be located in a residential neighborhood where children will attend public school and learn to live as responsible, productive citizens and participate in a variety of community activities.

The Children's Restoration Center Inc. is partnered up with community agencies including the Department of Children and Families, and the center will be set up to provide individually focused service for children who have suffered repeated placement failures or abuse and neglect. These children include those who were sexually or physically abused, emotionally neglected, or those who have a history of displaying self-harming behavior. A large percentage of the children that will come to our center will be from impoverished backgrounds and will have had very little or no exposure to enrichment activities.

Many of these children will require psychotherapy treatment and a living environment that provides clearly structured guidelines to teach them the characteristics of healthy and appropriate behaviors. The Children's Restoration Center will encourage children to take risks and to surmount physical, intellectual and emotional challenges. While working through these challenges, the children will obtain valuable life skills that will strengthen them both mentally and emotionally and help them create lasting social and personal change. Unlike locked residential treatment facilities, the Children's Restoration Center will be able to provide intensive mental health treatment under the supervision of licensed clinicians in a family-like home.
